New Beginnings

After much prodding and nagging, by my beautificent daughter, i have officially joined the world of blogging. I don't know how significant my thoughts, ideas, and definite opinions will be to any who happen upon my blog, but they will be out there nonetheless.
I am accustomed to debating and discussing issues with my daughter, my husband, or both at the same time, but am ready and willing to take on all comers.
This post will have to be brief as i need to take care of our good-'ol-dog Penne Lane. She is 13 years, has taken a lickin', but keeps on tickin'.
I am currently, and have for some time, been frustrated with the current Israeli government bureacracy. I have watched, listened, and read for the past weeks all of that which has transpired in Israel and Lebanon. How can solutions be so clear to someone like me, but yet elude an entire government. Israel should have gone in on the ground and in the air at the very beginning and not stopped until hezbollah was annihilated in Lebanon. Now the joke is that the Lebanese Army(really run by Iran and hezbollah) will go into Southern Lebanon to keep the peace LOL and wait for the French U.N. Peacekeeping Troops. With all the human and material damage that has occurred, all that has really happened is Israel has lost lives, homes, businesses, and much face, and Lebanon has lost lives, businesses, and gained face for terrorism in the Middle East and around the World.
This was our (United States) war, as much as it was Israel's. The leaders in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran want our demise and humiliation just as much as the people of Israel. Maybe W and Co. have something going on that i am unaware of, but to this frustrated and saddened heart their actions have been weak and suspect.
We are upset when we have to arrive at the airport 2-3 hours early, and have to have our bags checked at national monuments and concert venues. If Israelis' had such trivial and non-sacrificial issues-of-life to deal with i am sure they would be willing to change places. But the fact of the matter is that they are very willing to put up with any sacrifices that are asked of them, and seem to deal with them all much more graciously than we do with our own. They love their country and have a deep and abiding faith that only serves to inspire others. I am inspired and heartened by their faith and their make-the-best-of-things attitude, as i hope are you, dear readers.
